In a strange turn of events, the planned release of a full Black Delrin Pocket Modal got skipped. Initially, this release was planned for Black Friday 2024, a year and a half ago. When it came time to get this on the site we ran into issues with sourcing enough black clips, and this release got skipped and never added back to the calendar. Fast forward to last month when we were doing spot inventory and we found several bags of unused Black Delrin Pocket Modals. Talk about a facepalm moment. Better late than never, here's the All Black Delrin Pocket Modal Special Release.
The All Black Delrin Pocket Modal features raw machined black Delrin bodies that have a nicely "polished" finish. We've selected flat black hardware for this release which complements black Delrin and allows it to be the star of the show while giving it a stealthy appearance. Select from a variety of refills when configuring your pen.

The Modal is made from Delrin thermoplastics on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Schmidt refills are manufactured in Germany.

Lifetime Warranty
We offer a comprehensive Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects on parts and pieces we manufacture in-house. We also offer a Lifetime Service & Repair option requiring the customer send their item in to us and in most cases we will repair items free of charge. If an item is deemed as being damaged due to negligence, a charge may be applied to repair the item and we will contact the customer in those circumstances. Items not manufactured by us MAY have a limited warranty, please contact us for questions via the contact form.
Pocket Pen Perfection
As we began talking about phasing out the EDK pocket pen, we knew that we needed a pen that would perform the same duties, but a new design would take time. Since we'd just released the Modal, the easiest option was a pocket version that would bridge the gap until our new pocket pen was ready for launch. The Pocket Modal was meant to be a placeholder, a pen that would be retired as soon as the EDK replacement launched. However, the response to the Pocket Modal has been so positive, we have been forced to keep this on hand going forward. Much like the Modal, the Pocket Modal uses the traditional side-actuated bold-style knob though ours is an ergonomic oval that moves in a modified "checkmark" bolt rather than the traditional J-slot. Don't let the small size of the Pocket Modal fool you, this pen packs a punch when it comes to writing. Choose from either the Parker ballpoint refill options like the Schmidt Easyflow 9000 or the super smooth liquid rollerball of the Schmidt P8126, each provides a different writing experience for different use-cases.
Previous Releases
We specialize in producing unique and interesting limited and special release small batch products to ensure we have something for everyone. We partner with an ever-expanding group of artists and professionals to provide versions of our pens that range from hand-engraved to force patinated to hand-painted. Small batches range from 10 to 30 units some will never see a second release.
