New Special Release

Due to the popularity of distressed Cerakote on our heavily worn (nicked, scratched, dented) pens, we're turning this into a "series" of pens. The Distressed Editions will be official small run Cerakote releases, featuring a variety of two-color Cerakote finishes. The Crimson Patina is a brand new custom combination from Aaron over at Area15 that uses distressed Crimson over Satin Aluminum (yes, it's aluminum paint on an aluminum pen, but it makes sense) that creates a unique HEAVILY worn auto-paint look and feel.

The Crimson Patina Distressed Modal is our Modal pen featuring heavily worn aluminum body with a custom Cerakote application. A coat of Satin Aluminum (H-151) is put down first and partially cured. a coat of Crimson (H-221) is applied over the Satin Aluminum and that is partially cured. The Crimson is then removed by hand with an acetone soaked Scotch Brite pad. The results are a wearing away of the Crimson and revealing the silver of the base paint beneath, however, all of the dings and dents hold the Crimson which darkens from the force wearing process. The result is a unique look on every pen, especially since these got Aaron's most intense wearing process that really highlights the distressed markings. The use of Satin Aluminum Cerakote rather than just base aluminum provides a uniform color that will wear over time. Tumbled aluminum clips and buttons have been selected for this release and a black Delrin slider. Ships with a Pilot G2 refill with black ink.
