How this colorway hasn’t been added to our aluminum Decographs until now is quite strange. The Black Widow colorway was a huge hit on the Bolt years ago, then expanded to include EDK, Retrakt, and even INK fountain pens but we never got around to officially adding this to our more traditionally styled fountain pen, the Decograph, until now.
The Black Widow Decograph Special Release is our aluminum Decograph fountain pen featuring matte black anodize on the body, cap, and grip combined with matte red clip and finials. This classic color combination of red and black looks incredible and with the matte finish the pen retains a highly grippable surface that is super comfortable to use. The Black Widow Decograph can be customized with your choice of nib size. Ships with a Schmidt K5 Converter and two Monteverde standard international cartridges.
Limited Availability
The Decograph is made from 6061-T aluminum on our CNC lathes and Swiss machining centers, in Mesa, Arizona. Schmidt and Bock manufacture their products in Germany. Monteverde cartridges are made in Austria.

We offer a comprehensive Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects on parts and pieces we manufacture in-house. We also offer a Lifetime Service & Repair option requiring the customer send their item in to us and in most cases we will repair items free of charge. If an item is deemed as being damaged due to negligence, a charge may be applied to repair the item and we will contact the customer in those circumstances. Items not manufactured by us MAY have a limited warranty, please contact us for questions via the contact form.
Classic Style
Our second full-sized fountain pen, the Decograph, draws on the rich history of fountain pens in 30s and 40s. We poured over thousands of images, design patents, and physical pens to get an idea of what was "standardized" back in the heyday of fountain pens. Our overall design pulls in elements that were used by several companies such as finials for design and engineering purposes, asymmetric design pieces, large clips, and an oversized cap that posts on the body. Rather than outsource clip manufacturing, we designed a clip that we could mill in-house that would be captured by the top finial. What sets the Decograph apart from our previous pens, is that it was designed to be made from non-metal resins, though we eventually added aluminum, brass, and copper versions. The grip is our gold-standard known for comfort and long writing sessions with the body threads flattened for those that use a grip further up on the pen.
Previous Releases
We specialize in producing unique and interesting limited and special release small batch products to ensure we have something for everyone. We partner with an ever-expanding group of artists and professionals to provide versions of our pens that range from hand-engraved to force patinated to hand-painted. Small batches range from 10 to 30 units some will never see a second release.
