Depending on how it's applied it can cure with a slight shine or completely flat, this latest batch splits the difference with just the tiniest shine to the finish. The texture of the cured Cerakote is smooth, but not slippery providing a good grip when writing. We have chosen stainless steel clips, fasteners, and push-button mechanisms for this release. Utilizing a base coat of partially cured Ruby Red (H-306) over which they apply Armor Black (H-190), then the paint is semi-cured before Aaron uses acetone and Scotch Brite to manually remove the black giving that amazing distressed finish. This reveals the red undercoat in varying degrees on each pen. Some have more red with the black being mostly stripped away, while other pens retain more black and just hints of red show through.  We've elected to use matte black hardware and the black Delrin slider. Pink anodize never looks correct because it's just red that they pull out of the tank early and looks like washed out red. Many of the pink resins fail to capture that sought after true-pink tone. Over the years, we've tried multiple Cerakote colors with varying results, the majority of pink Cerakote is very hard to apply uniformly and ends up looking \"streaky\". Aaron at Area 15 toiled for quite some time testing out the fully pink spectrum including a few custom blends he made and landed on a new concoction that we're calling Pink Glow. Pink Glow is nice and uniform with a flat finish and light texture, it's very much a \"bubblegum\" shade of pink. We think it looks incredible paired with matte black but all of the grip options are available on purchase.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Pink Glow Vertex Cerakote Release is our machined aluminum Vertex with a professionally applied coat of custom Cerakote. Cerakote over aluminum adds a wonderful layer of color that is heat cured and hardens nicely forming a protective surface that can absorbs scrapes, dings, and dents. It will wear over time but is hardness rated for everyday carry wear and tear. This allows for protection and a variety of color options unavailable to us through traditional anodize. A coat of Sniper Grey (H-234) is put down first and partially cured. While still tacky, a coat of Hunter Orange (H-128) is applied over the Sniper Grey and that is partially cured. The Hunter Orange is then removed by hand with an acetone soaked Scotch Brite pad. The results are a wearing away of the orange and revealing the grey beneath, however, all of the dings and dents hold the orange which darkens from the force wearing process. The result is a unique look on every pen and a brand new way of representing the Monsoon colorway. The hunter orange takes on a wonderful rust tone during the wearing process that completes the look. Tumbled aluminum clips and buttons have been selected for this release and a black Delrin slider. The Crimson is then removed by hand with an acetone soaked Scotch Brite pad. The results are a wearing away of the Crimson and revealing the silver of the base paint beneath, however, all of the dings and dents hold the Crimson which darkens from the force wearing process. The result is a unique look on every pen, especially since these got Aaron's most intense wearing process that really highlights the distressed markings. The use of Satin Aluminum Cerakote rather than just base aluminum provides a uniform color that will wear over time.
