After a few years of perfecting the Vertex, we're now expanding into non-resin materials with the launch of the production aluminum Vertex options starting with the Tumbled Aluminum Vertex.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Tumbled Vertex fountain pen features the style that sets this pen apart while retaining MOST of the functions of the original pen. The overall size is nearly the same with the cap outer diameter being slightly smaller than the original resin versions. This pen utilizes the same grip sections and o-rings making the Vertex now standardized in both resin and metal. The only feature lacking in the Tumbled Vertex fountain pen is the ability to eyedropper this pen. While it technically CAN be done, we don't suggest it due to the fact that the ink WILL stain the aluminum and certain inks can cause corrosion and pitting due to the pH level of the ink. However, feel free to use the supplied Schmidt K5 converter with your favorite ink or a massive list of standard international cartridges. The caps and bodies of this pen have been put through our time-tested tumbling process to give it that slightly worn look that is perfect for everyday carry. It functions with only four parts: a cap, barrel, grip, and nib. Simply add ink to the reservoir, and you can happily write pages of notes before you need to refill. Eyedropper pens can be tricky and messy, and we wanted to eliminate some of those concerns. During the engineering phase we implemented designs of custom fit o-rings to eliminate the need for silicone grease to seal the grip and nib areas. Fast forward, to a few days before Solstice 2025, we're excited to release the Winter's Tale Vertex, in the same chilling wintergreen color. It took 8 years but we finally found a near exact duplicate to the original material, of course in the hands of Turner's Workshop. This premium European acrylic has the same light green color with brilliant silver-y, chatoyant swirls and ribbons of opaque black. If you want to complete the set of the two pens, now is the time. Aaron at Area 15 toiled for quite some time testing out the fully pink spectrum including a few custom blends he made and landed on a new concoction that we're calling Pink Glow. Pink Glow is nice and uniform with a flat finish and light texture, it's very much a \"bubblegum\" shade of pink. Well that date is upon us, and the fixes we've made on these pens are pretty big, at least for us.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Tumbled Titanium Bolt Complete Edition features a body, knob, clip, and fasteners all made of titanium. The clip is a riff on our standard clip, that's been widened with a center slot cut in it to allow for clip flexibility. These parts were water-jet cut from a sheet, and we then made a custom hand press and each clip is pressed into shape by hand in the shop. The screws are source from a knife supply company that specializes in titanium fasteners, and utilize our T8 Torx head. The only two \"parts\" that are not titanium are the standard Pilot G2 refill and our custom spring. Using the phrase \"labor of love\" for a tool like this seems strange, but we've never put this much hand work into a standard style release before, but the results are well worth it. These look and feel amazing.
